The rolling hills, dramatic buttes, striking cliffs, and winding rivers all lay the backdrop to a variety of adventures.

Take the day to explore the 96 mile Maah Daah Hey Trail stretching between the North and South Unit of the Theodore Roosevelt National Park. So many other trails are also available that hikers, bikers, and horseback riders come back each year to try another one.

The Little Missouri National Grasslands offer thousands of acres of public use lands. *Please note that many of these acres may be also intermingled with private land. Explore the open prairie, rugged badlands, and relax in the only natural Ponderosa Pine forest in the state, west of Amidon, ND. Wildlife is everywhere, view the antelope, deer, falcons, pheasant and prairie dogs.

Hunting is also abundant and hunters come from all across the country each year for the pheasant and grouse season and hunt prairie dogs, coyotes, deer, and antelope. Visit ND Game & Fish for hunting and fishing policies, instant licensing, and seasonal news.

Heart River Golf Course is a the perfect place to relax on the course and back at The Links Grille & Bar, located in the Club House. 18 holes of rolling course and carts available.
