What's New In Dickinson?
With 21 hotels
and 1,712 rooms open for guests, in addition to the oil traffic
beginning to slow in the region, Dickinson now has an increase of hotel availability.

What’s New In Town
The Cashwise Grocery Store has just opened in the Prairie Hills Mall and directly across from the new Qdoba Mexican Grill, Jimmy Johns, and City Brew Coffee. New specialty shops include Cobalt Closet and Mainstream Boutique, while new Dominos and Subway locations feature dine-in service. We are thrilled with all of the shopping and dining options that we now have in town.
The Dickinson Museum Center
and Dakota Dinosaur Museum
are open for summer business 7 days a week. The Joachim Regional Museum recently opened their latest display, “Dakota Diversions: A Look Back at Leisure”, which features photos, artifacts, and interactive displays about recreation and leisure in years gone by. Stop by and enjoy this exhibit along with the Prairie Outpost Park and the Dakota Dinosaur Museum, all in one location!
The summer months are some of our busiest on The Western Edge. Roughrider Days Fair and Expo 2015 runs from June 26-July 5 with rodeos, a parade, outdoor exhibits, and food and fun for the whole family!
The Alive@5 weekly music events have begun and are held every Thursday evening in downtown Dickinson. These family-friendly events bring in the best of local and up and coming talent from the region and around the country to perform live for the community.
The Arts on the Prairie Bandshell Concerts are held each Tuesday evening at
7:00 FREE of charge at the Phil Patterson Memorial Bandshell, and feature a wide variety of music for the whole family.
The Ukrainian Cultural Festival 2015
will be held at the Ukrainian Cultural Institute and Dickinson State University on July 15-19. The festival features guest speakers from around the world, musical events, dancing, and ethnic food!

lled to have Shannon Binstock and Peggy Rixen-Kuntz back with us again for another summer season. Peggy has worked weekends at the CVB for fifteen years and Shannon is joining us for her second summer. Their friendly smiles and welcoming personalities add so much to the tourist experience in Dickinson!
Regional Tourism & Development
With the help of our great summer staff, the CVB has already sent out hundreds of packets this year in response to the hunting and travel information requests from advertisements in AAA, Midwest Living, Home & Away, and
other leisure travel publications. Information for Dickinson and the region can be requested online
Our gift shop is now fully stocked for the summer and we are pleased to announce
that through collaboration with an internationally-renowned photographer, Jason Hallmark
, we are able to offer beautiful new note cards featuring incredible images of North Dakota scenery and of the Bakken oil industry. These cards come in tastefully packaged boxes of ten or are sold as individual prints.
- The 4th annual Old Red Trail Rummage Sale was held on June 6th in participating communities along the stretch of old Highway 10 from Dickinson to Mandan. Those who participated in the sales were given red sale balloons to fly at their location. The event is part of the marketing collaboration of the Old Red Old Ten Scenic Byway.
- North Dakota Tourism has released its 2014 Annual Report which can be viewed online. For this and other information on the beautiful state of North Dakota, be sure to visit their website to make your travel plans!
- This year North Dakota celebrates the 50th Anniversary of the ND Parks and Recreation with a series of events hosted at various state parks throughout the summer months. There will be entertainment, food and refreshments, drawings and giveaways, and much more!
- The Medora Musical also celebrates its 50th Anniversary this year! The show plays every night of the week until September 12th. Make plans to see the anniversary show and see the beautiful sights of the Theodore Roosevelt National Park.
